Masters Of Our Destiny

Field hockey is a life long passion, and age does not matter. We still have many years left in us. Volunteer masters have pooled resources to promote activities for O35 field hockey players in Ontario and Canada, hoping that masters will continue to play recreationally and competitively. We have just held the brand new Masters Festival 2019 in Ontario and thanks to your support, it has successfully taken off and hopefully this will be the foundation of future masters events to come. We are also helping Field Hockey Canada's Masters Committee based in Vancouver in spreading the word in Ontario about Masters World Cups. FHC's Indoor Program is led by Ontario's Louis Mendonca who is preparing us for the Masters Indoor World Cup 2022, and this site can help post the activities so that you are all informed. Masters activities have picked up over the past years but it has been challenging organizing national teams as we are spread over large distances, with outdoor teams comprising of mostly players from the Western provinces and indoor teams consisting of mostly players from the Central and Eastern provinces. Ilenna has set up this volunteer site so as to co-ordinate efforts to promote outdoor and indoor masters field hockey across Canada. Another reason for setting up this site is to promote recreational masters field hockey in Ontario where we have many seasoned players who have left the game. The hope is to organize at least one Masters Festival a year to get everybody together, and entice some out of retirement.
