World Masters Hockey Indoor World Cup 2022 Cancelled- Announcement from WMH on Jan. 10: "The WMH, in conjunction with the Host Nation Organising Committee from USA Field Hockey, has unfortunately had to make the decision to cancel the WMH Indoor World Cup scheduled for February 2022 in Virginia Beach, USA. This decision is due to the current global health situation (Covid-19) including the uncertainties relating to the highly transmissible Omicron variant. The WMH, following FIH’s recent decision to cancel the FIH Indoor World Cup in Belgium 2022, confirmed that it was also not possible to hold the Masters Indoor World Cup in a safe and feasible way, noting further team withdrawals after recent consultation with participating Member Associations. This decision was not taken lightly as it would have been World Masters Hockey first global event. However, the safety of all participants must be a primary consideration and this could not be guaranteed given the current global health situation."
